Brand Identity for a Michelin-recommended lounge and restaurant.

Owners / Bardo
A complete brand identity and website for Bardo, a mid-century inspired neighborhood eatery.
In Tibetan Buddhism, Bardo refers to a transitional state between death and rebirth—a phase where one state of being has ended and another has not yet begun. This concept inspired Bardo Lounge & Supper Club, a stylish neighborhood eatery where a guest's sense of time and place shifts upon arrival.
I worked with owners Jenni and Seth Bregman to create a brand identity referencing altered states of perception, classic American cocktail culture, and the decadence of 1960s dinner parties.
BRAND IDENTITY
Don Draper’s psychedelic era.
The Bardo wordmark was designed to evoke an "in-between" state—dimensional and slightly disorienting, yet grounded in period-correct typography. Secondary graphics were kept minimal and mid-century inspired, with a color palette drawn from the venue's extensive antique collection.
The typographic system pairs a ’60s-era script for headlines with a geometric sans-serif (Futura) for menus and collateral. The standalone "B" monogram was enclosed in a circle for use on signage, menus, coasters, and print pieces.
WEBSITE
Let the space do the talking.
When clients design a venue as sumptuous and detailed as Bardo, the best move is to let the visuals lead. The warmth and character of the space take center stage through photography by Anna Wick.
My objective was to transport visitors online, allowing them to imagine sinking into Bardo’s atmosphere before stepping through the door. Intuitive navigation for menus, location details, and an integrated reservation widget make booking effortless.
MENU SYSTEM
A choose-your-own-adventure approach.
Bardo’s service model called for a modular menu system. The downstairs lounge focuses on cocktails and small bites, while the upstairs dining room offers a traditional restaurant experience.
The Lounge menu categorizes drinks logically (Shaken, Stirred, Mid-Century, Draft, N/A), complete with custom glassware icons and concise flavor profiles. Bar snacks are highlighted under "Lounge Fare."
The upstairs dinner menu uses a single-page format for daily seasonal updates. A dedicated drinks menu, including a full wine list, completes the dining room presentation.
