The 2012-2013 school year marked the 125th anniversary of Head-Royce School, a K-12 independent school in Oakland, California. To commemorate this impressive milestone, we worked with the Head-Royce administration to create an anniversary logo and brand identity, one that draws upon the school’s heritage and looks ahead to the next 125 years. Response was so positive that they continued to use the it as their primary logo until 2026.
As part of the school’s 125th anniversary celebration, Pulitzer Prize-winning musician Wynton Marsalis and his Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra were invited to play a private concert for the Head-Royce community. We created an invitation suite for the performance that was inspired by the classic Blue Note album covers from the 50′s and 60′s.
The culmination of the 125th anniversary celebration was the Anniversary Gala, which took place over Alumni Weekend. We designed an invitation suite for both alumni and the greater school community that integrated elements of the 125th logo. Congratulations to Head-Royce on their historic milestone!
